Located just south of Orosei, only a 5-minute drive away, Su Petrosu lies along one of the most linear and airy stretches of coastline in the Gulf of Orosei. The first impression comes from its sense of space. The beach extends lengthwise, with a wide expanse of light-colored sand that makes it easy to find your own spot, even during busier periods. There is no feeling of being crowded, nor of having to “defend” a strip of shoreline. It is a beach that invites you to stretch out, both physically and mentally.

The deep sea and the natural setting of Su Petrosu

The sea at Su Petrosu is one of its most evident strengths. The seabed does not slope gently; there are stretches that create the perfect conditions for those who enjoy diving straight in from the beach. The water is generally clear and calm, especially on days with light or no wind. This makes it particularly suitable for unhurried swimming and for spending long periods in the water.

Behind the beach, the presence of low vegetation and open spaces helps maintain a sense of continuity with the natural environment. Practical access and a balance that lasts over time

From a practical point of view, Su Petrosu is easy to access. It can be reached comfortably by car from Orosei, with free parking available just before the lagoon bridge, making arrival simple even for families. For those who prefer to bring their equipment directly onto the beach, it is possible to cross the bridge and, by paying an entrance ticket (5–10 euros), park the car in the pine forest in designated areas. This makes Su Petrosu a frequent choice not only for tourists, but also for local residents who visit it regularly.

The beach offers a good balance between freedom and services. There are stretches of free beach and during the summer season, equipped areas where umbrellas and sunbeds can be rented.

Su Petrosu is particularly appreciated by those looking for a straightforward holiday, without constant movement or rigid plans. It is the kind of beach you can choose again and again during your stay, because it never feels tiring. Each day here resembles the previous one, but without becoming repetitive. It is a rare quality and one that is often underestimated.

When to go and what to do

The best time to visit is from May to September. In June and September, the beach likely shows its best side: stable weather, soft light and a more diluted human presence. Even during high season, however, the width of the shoreline helps maintain a sense of balance.

Near Su Petrosu Beach lies the Osalla pier, from which tourist excursions depart toward the most renowned coves of the Gulf of Orosei. It is also the closest departure point for quad excursions.
